Commerce students face a common problem: Accountancy feels like a foreign language, Economics is too abstract, and Business Studies gets left to last-minute cramming. SEHR Academy changes that — small batches, concept-first teaching, both CBSE and Kerala State Board covered.
Same subjects, different syllabi and exam patterns. We teach both — with the approach matched to your board's requirements.
Each Commerce subject has a different challenge. We address each one directly.
The subject most Commerce students fear — and the one that defines your stream. We teach it from first principles: what a transaction is, why the equation balances, what each journal entry means. No rote-learning of formats without understanding. Kerala HSE covers two separate Accountancy papers; CBSE covers Financial Accounting I & II. Both are taught with equal depth.
Business Studies is often treated as a memory subject — which is why most students score poorly in the application-based questions. We teach the concepts behind each topic (forms of business, sources of finance, management functions) so that answers are constructed from understanding, not recalled from notes.
CBSE Class 11 covers both Statistics for Economics and Introductory Micro/Macro in one year. Kerala HSE spreads this differently. Either way, the challenge is the same: abstract concepts, graphs that must be understood (not memorised), and numerical work that trips up unprepared students. We make the graphs and the logic click.
Optional but strongly recommended for any student considering CA Foundation, BBA with quantitative aptitude, or Economics (H) at degree level. Class 11 Commerce Maths covers sets, relations, functions, statistics, and linear programming — entirely different from Science Maths but equally rigorous. We teach both CBSE and Kerala HSE syllabi.
Computer Application (Kerala HSE) and Informatics Practices (CBSE) cover Python basics, database fundamentals, and spreadsheet tools. A practical subject that is also a reliable scorer — and increasingly relevant for Commerce students entering data-oriented business roles.
Often the margin between an A and an A+. Commerce board answers require precise written expression — not just correct content. We work on structuring long-form answers, writing formal reports, and developing the reading speed needed for comprehension questions under exam conditions.
Toggle between boards. Both syllabi covered in full.
A strong Class 11–12 Commerce foundation opens a wide range of career and higher education paths.
Commerce students are often left to figure things out on their own. We don't do that.
Most Class 11 students arrive with no accounting background. We start from zero — what a transaction is, what double-entry means, why the balance sheet balances — and build forward chapter by chapter. No student is assumed to know anything on day one.
Commerce subjects require practice and feedback on written answers, not just listening to lectures. Small batches allow every student to attempt problems in class, get individual corrections, and have answer-writing reviewed properly.
Demand and supply curves, production functions, market equilibrium — Economics has a reputation for being abstract. We teach with diagrams, real examples from the Kerala economy, and structured note formats that make revision fast and effective.
Business Studies and Economics board marks go to students who write well-structured answers, not just correct ones. We build this skill from the first month — keyword usage, answer length, diagram placement, and conclusion writing.
Kerala HSE and CBSE Commerce have different syllabi, question patterns, and marking schemes. We teach both, and students always know exactly which version of a topic applies to their board.

Yes — and that's the norm. Almost no Class 11 Commerce student has prior accounting knowledge. We start from the very beginning: what a business transaction is, what debit and credit mean, and why the accounting equation holds. By the end of the first unit, students who had never seen a journal entry are writing them confidently.
We strongly recommend it for most students. Maths as an optional subject in Commerce keeps doors open for CA Foundation (which has a quantitative section), Economics Honours at degree level, MBA entrances (CAT, XAT), and government competitive exams. The only case against taking it is if a student is genuinely very weak in Maths and it would pull down their overall score — in which case we can advise based on a short assessment.
The core subjects are the same (Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics) but there are key differences: Kerala HSE splits Accountancy into two separate papers (Part I and Part II) covering different topic areas. CBSE combines Accountancy into one paper with a slightly different scope, and its Economics includes both Statistics for Economics and Introductory Microeconomics in the same year. The CBSE curriculum is also more directly aligned to NCERT textbooks, which are the basis for CA Foundation preparation.
Yes — in fact, Class 11 is the ideal time to register with ICAI and begin CA Foundation preparation alongside board studies. Accountancy and Business Laws in CA Foundation overlap significantly with Class 11 and 12 Commerce. We advise students on this pathway, and our Accountancy coaching covers the depth needed for both the board exam and CA Foundation Paper 1 (Accounting).
Yes. Students who complete Class 11 Commerce with us move directly into the Class 12 Commerce batch. The continuity matters enormously — Class 12 Accountancy (Partnership, Company Accounts, Cash Flow) builds directly on Class 11. Starting Class 12 with a teacher who already knows your gaps is a real advantage.
Fees are charged monthly. There is no registration fee. See the full breakdown on the Fee Structure page → or WhatsApp us directly for current batch rates for Commerce.
We teach Commerce through Class 12 — and also offer Science and individual sessions.
